There are a lot of people that love to read facebook comments as much as I do but; whenever we get the chance to see a really interesting conversation or argument, we always choose to zip our mouth instead of riding to the fire that the participants are making. We are called as “Keyboard Warriors Observer”.

Then, there’s “Aldub” of Eat Bulaga‘s Kalyeserye. They are currently the hottest loveteam right now. They even beat the Superbowl and WorldCup twitter record. They filled the Philippine Arena which has the capacity of 55,000.
If you have been exploring the internet, especially facebook; you will notice that Aldub is really a talk of the town; but, you will notice that there are provocative netzens who call the Aldub fans as “Aldogs” for bragging about their acheivements or for fighting against the haters. You can see those kinds of netizens around Abs-Cbn pages, or non-Aldub pages.
There are also “Pseudo-Intellectual Netizens” who are trying to connect Aldub to the nation’s problems.
Some of what they believe in are the following:
● They put too much attention to Aldub, how about the traffic in Edsa, the Lumads, the poor.
● The Aldub fans are stupid. Aldub is so shallow.
● If these people can be united for a loveteam, how come they cannot be united for resolving our country’s problem?
● They are so willing to spend money for a loveteam but cannot donate to the victims of typhoon.
● What is the benefit of watching Aldub?
Such problems as traffic, killings of Lumads has nothing to do with Aldub. Politics, community problems, and public current affairs has nothing to do with entertainment. Next, Aldub may be shallow but at the end of the day; they had fun and you did not because you are busy trying to mind other’s business. Internet is also a form of shallowness, you can tell them that you use them for communication purposes and reading news but do not ever dare lie to yourself that you never seek entertainment in the Internet; that you never played a game in the internet; and you never used internet to spare time. In shorter term, do not be a hypocrite.
Aldub fans united to support the loveteam and to filled the Arena. These Aldub fans maybe united for Aldub and not in politics but these people do not have the same opinion in terms of politics. Filipino people have been unitedly voicing out their opinion about the nation’s problem for decades, does our government ever listened? No, they never and yes, they can be tired of voicing out their opinion, maybe, that’s why they are being united by entertainment. Some of them maybe even donated efforts and money for the victims of typhoon while being Aldub fans.
Some of Aldub fans use the noontime as the time to relieve their stress; to forget their personal and community problems temporarily; to spare time since they are managers and CEOs; to learn traditional values; to see themselves at the screen as OFWs; and to find happiness.
At the end of the day, you had fun more than anybody else because it is all about you and not them.
